In the USA, Beautifully Unblemished Vitiligo Support Group hosted the World Vitiligo Day 2025 conference between June 27 and 29 in Tampa, Florida. The theme for this year’s WVD-USA was “Beyond the Surface: Redefining Vitiligo,” encouraging participants to look past what met the eye and embrace strength, beauty, and resilience.

In another important development, supermodel and activist Winnie Harlow unveiled her wax statue at Madame Tussauds USA on World Vitiligo Day, marking a historic moment for the vitiligo community worldwide. “Seeing someone with skin like ours represented on such a global stage means more than words can say,” she shared. “This is everything.”

In Canada, World Vitiligo Day was celebrated in Toronto for the very first time, marking a significant milestone in raising awareness and support for those affected by the condition. Hosted by Skinopathy in collaboration with the Vitiligo Research Foundation, this landmark event embraced the theme “Innovation for Every Skin,” highlighting the transformative role of artificial intelligence, MedTech, and research in advancing care, access, and equity. The event brought together a diverse audience of medical professionals, patients, advocates, technologists, and industry leaders. Topics spanned clinical research, AI-driven innovation, cosmetic solutions, and mental health support, complemented by engaging activities such as a startup showcase, art competition, and lead-up events—all livestreamed globally. Featured speakers included renowned experts like Dr. Torello Lotti, Dr. Sam Hanna, and Dr. Nanette Silverberg, along with voices from advocacy and industry such as Dana Gies, Erika Page, and Christine Lennon.

Asia

In India, a student parliament was held at the Government Model Higher Secondary School in Chennai. The parliament featured a special awareness debate on vitiligo to educate all students about the condition and its cosmetic nature. The session was chaired and addressed by Dr. P. Senthil Kumar, Principal Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu.

Europe

The UK-based Vitiligo Society led the celebration of World Vitiligo Day 2025 with an inspiring virtual event on Tuesday, June 25 at 7:00 PM BST. Hosted by vitiligo advocate Natalie Ambersley, the event featured a powerful lineup of speakers who shared personal journeys, expert insights, and messages of empowerment. Highlights included Dr. John Harris discussing the search for a cure, Professor Andrew Thompson offering strategies for emotional resilience, and British actress Georgia May Foote sharing her experience of embracing vitiligo in the spotlight. Other speakers included trailblazing makeup artist Logina Salah, international footballer Tiffany Cameron, and holistic health practitioner Amir Bahadori. Open to all and free to attend via Zoom, the event aimed to raise awareness, foster connection, and celebrate the vitiligo community. Registration was available on Eventbrite.
