On October 10, 2019, the first World Vitiligo Day 2020 Organizing Committee met at the Conference center of CEU University of Madrid, Spain. By this time, the 10th annual World Vitiligo Day (WVD 2020) was supposed to be celebrated all over the globe with great enthusiasm and zeal. For the celebration of world vitiligo day 2020, the WVD 2020 headquarters moved from Vietnam to Serbia.
Public institutions and private clinics in Serbia were supposed to get involved in the WVD 2020 campaign by offering free consultations to vitiligo fighters on the week around June 25th, and/or by providing leaflets and disseminating information about the skin disorder through lectures, presentations, and master-classes. However, in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, most of these activities on World Vitiligo Day stand canceled, globally.

How can you celebrate in your individual capacity?
Vitiligo is an under-researched skin disorder. The breadth and complexity of the condition require international collaboration in therapy development. So, speak up for your vitiligo and your right to being treated equally.
This, WVD, build awareness about vitiligo in your locality, a harmless skin condition that can have a significant negative psycho-social impact on those living with it, also because of numerous misconceptions still present in large parts of the world. If the Stay-at-home orders are extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in your locality, make sure your voice is heard on social media space and/or in your friend circle.
